Why I'm Running

Meet Ali

I’m running because this is home. I grew up on the West Side, raised by a single mother who worked hard to keep us stable and moving forward. We didn’t have much room for mistakes, but we had community. I saw early what that really means and what it looks like when a neighborhood isn’t getting the investment it deserves. I’ve spent years showing up, working inside city government and out in the community, learning how decisions get made and where they fall short. I’ve been in rooms where millions of dollars are discussed, and I’ve been with residents who don’t feel any of it reaching them.I’m not running to talk about problems. I’m running because I’ve put time into this community and I know it’s worth investing in. We’ve had too many empty spaces, too many missed opportunities, and too many families feeling like they’re getting left behind. I’m young, but I bring urgency and real experience from doing the work. I want to help build a Saint Paul where the West Side and neighborhoods like it are fully invested in, where small businesses can grow, and where people who grew up here can afford to stay and build their lives here.
